State of Maryland Point Lookout June the 25th 1864 Dear Companion I take this opportunity to let you no where I am and how I am getting along I blefs the name of the Lord that he has blefsed me with good helth and strength and I am doing finely. I was captured in the 17th of June and have been treeted mity well better than I could have erespected our enimy acted perfect gentlemen with us and I feel thankfull to God that he has given us favor in the sight of our enimies. I hope this will reach you and find you all well and doing well tell the children that I send them my love and to be good children write to me soon and send me as much as two dollars in United State money if it wilnot disfurnish you Wm (hard to read) Holland is here and Jacson Wagner is here and they are well. Jack sends his best love and respects to his connection and Marion Darwins & family and tell him to send him to send him som money as much as a dollar or two.
