I am researching in Suffolk - OAKLEY (Glemsford area), HALL (Attleborough area of Norfolk), PECK (Halesworth area), and HART (Chediston area) main lines. Also have confusion with the parents of Keziah Butler who married William Okely/Oakley, both said to have been born in Virginia. Have seen a path to Benjamin Franklin Butler in New England which I don't believe is correct and another to John Butler of Virginia. Anyone able to help clean either or both lines up? I have very little Oakley info, except for my GG Grandmother, Catherine Oakley Page. I sent you an invite to view my tree. Maybe some of her siblings'names and estimated dates, will be of some help to you ? Seems that her sister, HANNAH OAKLEY, married my GG Grandfather's brother, WILLIAM PAGE. So in a way, I have a "double" Oakley connection. Haven't heard of any other Oakleys, other than Catherine, immigrating to the U.S.; and your story is the first time I've heard Austrailia mentioned. Interesting ! Hope we can make a connection. Thanks again, and looking forward to hearing back from you. My Oakley ancestors lived on MEETING STREET in Wednesbury for most of the 1800's. My GG Grandmother was CATHERINE OAKLEY (1830-1914). She married JOHN PAGE. They brought their children to Pennsylvania, USA in 1882. I was hoping to find out more about her parents (and John's), as all I have is their names, and no dates. Her parents were JAMES OAKLEY & MARTHA RUSSELL. John's parents were WILLIAM PAGE (died 1847) & NANCY SMITH. They are my 15 year old brick wall. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Gary B. He was granted a Military certificate paying for his service, his name was listed on the Military Certificate Book No. 1 on file in the Kentucky State Historical Society in Frankfort. I only found Benjamin Okely (probably referring to the earlier VA grant), nothing yet for Christopher. Search OKELY here: http://www.kyhistory.com/cdm/compoundobject/collection/LIB/id/1144/show/936/rec/15 The name should appear twice, Benjamin Okely, not Christopher.
