HBH 1890 July 16 Clyde Town Board Wairoa-Tuesday Clyde Town Board-For some time previous Mr Thos PARKER, was unable to attend the meetings owing to ill-health, and Mr J H SMYTHE invariably presided in the chairman's absence. After waiting for a considerable time in order to get a full attendance of members at the Board at its late meeting, Messrs J H SMYTHE, G N FLINT, A POYZER, and A JAMES being present (the new member) Mr H P BROWN, deciding to defer taking his seat on account of an informality in his election, viz., the absence of the returning officer on the nomination day....more....It is hard to say what will be the upshot of these and other complications in connection with this local body.
