HBH 1890 August 18 Street Lamps-BISSELL The streets lighting committee of the Borough Council are considering the proposal of the GULCHE Electric Lighting Company to recommend acceptance of the latter. At the present there are 59 street lamps, and it is proposed to erect 41 more, making 100 in all. The cost will be £6 per lamps which is a large reduction on the rate now paid. Bit as the scheme will involve the Gas Company in heavy expenditure in laying new mains, &c., the company ask for a five years' contract. Mr E BISSELL-Hastings will enliven Monday evening by a magic lantern exhibition.
