HBH 1890 August 7 CHOIR St Paul's There was a good attendance at the special congregational meeting in St Paul's Church last evening. The Rev. J.G. PATERSON presided. Business taking place was the nomination of three members as elders and the annual presentation of prizes to the members of the Choir. For the position of elder those nominated were: - Messrs J W CRAIG J H TODD James KING Prizes were distributed to members of the choir for attendance and proficiency in the knowledge and practice of music as follows: - Senior members: Miss LINDSAY Miss RENOUF Miss D'AUTHREAU Mr ANDERSON Mr NEILSON Mr GREENFIELD Junior members- Girls 1ST-Lettie KING 2ND-Ada D'AUTHREAU 3RD-A RIDGEWAY 4TH-Nellie LONG 5TH-Olive ARMSTRONG 6TH-Aletha OLIVER Following four were equal: Winnie SCARFE Alice RENOUF Evelyn GRAINGER Maud WATT Boys: 1ST-Lyndon APLIN 2ND Tom GRAINGER Equal- E SCARFE T ROULSTON Special-John BROWN The choir sang three anthems, and solos were given by the following members of the choir: - Misses L KING L OLIVER N LONG A ROBINSON A D'AUTHREAU Messrs NEILSON and GREENFIELD Master F GRAINGER The meeting then closed with a hymn and a benediction.
