HBH 1890 August 26 Napier Harbour Board Special meeting held yesterday of the Napier Harbour Board Present: - Messrs J H VAUTIER-Chair J Mc VAY F W WILLIAMS J W NEAL P DOLBEL G H SWAN Following tenders for dredging the Iron Pot for three years from acceptance were opened: - Messrs GLENDINNING and GRIFFIN, 1s 6 1/4d per yard CRANBY and PREBBLE (accepted), 1s 2 1/2d J.W.KENDALL 1s 9d. The spoil is to be used in filling in the lagoon on both sides of the present reclamation. The accepted tender is 25 per cent cheaper Than the contract just expired, meaning a saving to the Board of about £600 per annum. Mr ORMOND had been communicated with in reference to the threatened withdrawal of railway traffic from the breastwork owing to an alleged subsidence.
