June 11th 1891 SHIPPING NEWS: Arrival - June 10 - Lily, schooner, Captain BLOM, from Timaru. Departure - June 10 - Orpheus, schooner, Captain SMITH, for Timaru. Death - M'MILLAN - At Puiahu, on May 22nd, Donald M'MILLAN, aged 92 years. Canterbury papers please copy. The police authorities yesterday received complaints to the effect that natives of the BROUGHTON party were ploughing land allotted to Mrs DONNELLY and her party by the Native Land Court. Sergeant CULLEN went out to Omahu yesterday and found the complaints well founded, as five three-horse teams were hard at work ploughing up paddocks included in the land awarded to Mrs DONNELLY and her people, other natives looking on. Sergeant CULLEN formally warned those ploughing to desist, but they refused to do so, and in consequence the law will be set in motion. - ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
