    1. 6/2832 Second lieutenant Valentine BLAKE died Gallipoli
    2. Leigh Willoughby
    3. Hello all, Is there anyone on the list that could help with this, it has been forwarded to me. this soldier and family were apparently living in the Gisborne area, so their maybe descendants up their some where. Any help appreciated. He is the only Officer who died at Gallipoli that there is no known photograph of 1.Some long time ago you enquired on behalf of Mr Patrick Gariepy out of USA for photograph of 6/2832 Second lieutenant Valentine BLAKE, KIA Gallipoli 09.12.1915. B. Windsor, NSW. I suggested the Gen Soc/ Hist Soc of Gisborne be contacted as the chap, who enlisted at Wellington, had his nok as father: V I BLAKE, Lands and Survey Office, Gisborne, where he was Commissioner of Crown Lands. 2. I have just received my copy of the quarterly magazine of the Gallipoli Assoc {UK] for Autumn [UK] 2005 in which Leigh Willoughby posts an enquiry for the man’s photograph as “ the only [Gallipoli deceased] officer for which he has no photo’.” 3. Was there any response from Gisborne for Mr G? 4. I don’t have Gariepy’s e-mail address nor Leigh’s. Maybe you can bring 1. 2. and 3 above together for Leigh’s sake? Should Leigh try for Gen Soc/ Hist Soc/ Library at Windsor, NSW? 3. Hi Leigh, I can't help you with a photo, but ................... Vincent I. BLAKE married 1887 Leichhardt (Sydney) to Kathleen HUNTER son Valentine BLAKE b1887 Windsor NSW AUS son Edward V. BLAKE b1890 Richmond NSW AUS (Richmond is just along the road from Windsor) No other children shown for this couple, so maybe they went off to NZ in the 1890"s. I can give you the email address for the Windsor Library Librarian if you wish.
