    3. Judy Weller The funeral of the late Ernest VAUGHAN, which took place at HASTINGS yesterday, was very largely attended by settlers from far and near. The body was taken from the train to the residence of the deceased's father, where the first part of the funeral service was read by the Rev. John HOBBS. The choir of St. Matthew's, who were present, sang "One Let Him Whose Sorrow," very impressively, after which the cortege proceeded to the cemetery, where the last sad rites were conducted, the choir at the termination of the service singing "On the Resurrection Morning."
