    3. Judy Weller The Rev. W. COLENSO, F.R.S., met with a painful accident last week, getting one of his thumbs jammed by the door of a railway carriage. Mr A. TURNBULL, S.M., dealt yesterday morning with police cases as follows:- Mary BURKE, who had been arrested on Saturday evening in the vicinity of the Provincial Hotel, for creating a disturbance was dismissed with a caution, as she was a first offender and had been locked up since Saturday evening. W.L. LEES, charged with being drunk while in charge of a cab , was represented by Sir W. WASTENEYS, and pleading guilty was let off with a fine of 10s and costs 17s 6d. H. ROGERS, for plying for hire at the railway without a license, was fined 1s and costs 7s. Three yhouths, TOOP, LAWRY, and M'GRATH, were charged with disorderly conduct at an early hour on Monday morning in the White road. The first two were fined 10s and costs or 48 hours. The last, who had been allowed bail, forfeited his deposit, £1 2s, for failing to appear in answer to the charge.
