The latter won after a good race. After the conclusion of the contest the winner was presented by Mr FOLEY with the first prize, a gold brooch, and Miss SIMMONDS received a silver brooch. A man named Charles James Mc DONALD, who was formerly known in NAPIER as an itinerant musician, was yesterday arrested by the police on a charge of offering indecent pictures for sale. Before Captain PREECE R.M.,-John CURRY fined 5s and costs for drunkenness. James STEVENSON also convicted of a similar charge, and it being his second offence within a recent period fined 10s and costs .
