HB Herald, June 16, 1894 Danevirke - A laborer on the railway line, named JENSEN, of Norsewood, and who is a married man, was at 4.30 p.m. to-day accidentally run over by a ballast train and killed instantaneously. It is supposed that the unfortunate man was lighting his pipe under the lea of the engine, when it started and crushed him. The funeral of the late Mr H. NAPHTALI took place yesterday morning in the Napier cemetery. The funeral ceremony was conducted by the Rev. H. Van STAVEREN, who came up from Wellington specially for the purpose. A number of prominent citizens followed the remains to the grave, among them being the Mayor, Dean HOVELL, Mr CARNELL, M.H.R., and Dr. de LISLE. The Jewish burial service was most impressively read by the Rabbi.
