HB Herald, Tues. June 12, 1894 Death - TODD - At Eskdale, Petane, on June 11th, 1894, Alexander TODD, late of Scotland, aged 56 years. Deeply regretted, as he leaves a widow and three children to mourn their loss. The funeral will leave deceased's late residence at 2 p.n. to-morrow (Wednesday) for Petane cemetery. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr TURNBULL, S.M., Samuel CALDWELL, Archibald FRASER, David ORANGE, and Robert DAY were charged with allowing horses to wander on the roads. None of the defendants appeared. The first two were each fined 1s and costs, and the others 5s and costs. Mary Ann JONES, for drunkenness, was fined £1 10s, and costs. Joseph M'CABE, alias Joseph HOOPER, similarly charged, was convicted and discharged with a caution.
