    3. HB Herald, Wed. June 13, 1894 At the Magistrate's Cout yesterday James SADLER was convicted of drunkenness and discharged with a caution. Mr C.H. CRANBY has imported a quantity of the famous "Circular Head" potatoes. These tubers are undoubtedly the favorite article in the Sydney market, their value always being £1 per ton higher than any other variety imported. As our climate and soil are very similar to Northern Tasmania we see no reason why these potatoes should not grow to perfection here, and farmers might do worse than give them a trial. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr TURNBULL, S.M., the further hearing of the charges of circulating obscene writings preferred against M. COLOTE, alias RUTTLEDGE, alias LONG, alias SMITH, was proceeded with. A postal note for 10s that had been cashed by prisoner was produced by the post office authorities. He offered no defence to the two charges. He was sentenced to three months' hard labor on each. In the first the costs and expenses of the prosecution came to £5 2s 3d, and prisoner was ordered to pay that amount or go to gaol for another month. The costs in the second case amounted to £1 8s, and the alternative imposed in this case was one week's hard labor. The whole sentence therefore amounted to seven months and one week's hard labor. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
