Hi everyone: New member just logged on. Les Hewett, Napier. Lived here for 70+ years; genealogy addict. My Pointon ancestors arrived from Shropshire (1400's) via St. Helens, Lancs., 1882. Gray from Northumberland 1842; Johnston from Belfast 1846; Hewett 1885. Happy to assist enquirers as I am in and out of local library regularly. Also, for my sins, I am NZ Commissioner; Genealogy Officer; and Newsletter Editor for Clan Johnston /e Assn., NZ Inc. Seeking early arrivals of Johnston/es anywhere in NZ for our Historical Index project. I assist members and non-members with genealogy enquiries and hold a small collection of trees from members and others, most of which go back to Scotland and Ireland. Look forward to list messages. Regards: Les Hewett, Napier.
