Court yesterday, John KELLY, for habitual drunkenness, was sentenced to a month's hard labor. Peter GILLESPIE, charged with drunkenness, did not appear, and his bail of 1 pound was estreated. Two divorce cases are set down for hearing today. One, that of STARK v. STARK and BALLINGER, is the husband's petition for the dissolution of a marriage contracted several years ago, when he was a boy of sixteen........ The other case if that of LAFFOLEY v. LAFFOLEY, the wife's petition for a dissolution of marriage. The parties reside at Clive. Patrick M'CLUSKEY appears to be a very mean thief. He was brought before two Justices yesterday, charged on three informations with larceny, and pleaded guilty to each....... The Supreme Court was occupied all yesterday with the case of P.A. HERMAN v. J. IRVINE, an action heard before the Chief Justice alone. Plaintiff sued to recover 125 pounds on a promissory note alleged to have been made by defendant in favor of one TURNER, and by the latter endorsed to plaintiff........
