    3. HBH 1890 May 31 Wairoa Friday The usual two-monthly sitting of the R.M. Court took place on Wednesday before Messrs DUFF, LARGE, and POWDRELL, J.P's.-Mr BOOTH R.M., owing to pressure of work up the East Coast and other causes which prevented his coming through, was not present. Consequently all the Maori cases and some of the principal European ones were adjourned till the 17th of June, when Mr BOOTH will be at Wairoa a as Judge of the Revision Court. Cases heard on Wednesday was that of W F SHAW v John BROWN and John GRANT, a private prosecution in which the defendants were charged with larceny of 40 posts from the plaintiff's land, TINIROTO. They pleaded not guilty and accused BROWN claiming to have an interest in the land through a native woman with whom he lives on the land adjoining. After hearing a number of witnesses for the prosecution case was adjourned on the application of Mr HAWKINS-counsel for the defendants, owing to the absence of a material witness. Principal civil case was that of W A GRIFFIN v D MAWE Other prosecutions adjudicated consisted mainly of prosecutions for the non-registration of dogs, small debt cases &c. At a meeting of the CLYDE Town Board on Wednesday Mr Thomas PARKER resigned the chairmanship through ill health. The tender of G PIKE £51, for forming Lahore Street was accepted.
