The appeal was struck out because it had not been made in time. Mr CHAPMAN was for the appellant (BLYTHE) and Mr BELL for the respondent .The CARTERTON School Committee have tackled the Home lessons bugbear, and have instructed the teachers interested that no home lessons will be given to the children of parents who object to that course. The CARTERTON committee maintain that five hours' instruction daily is sufficient for children, and that the home lesson system throws upon parents a a deal of the work that teachers are supposed to perform.
