Oh, and Elaine...thank you so much Lesley ----- Original Message ---- From: mattse165 <mattse165@paradise.net.nz> To: nz-hawkes-bay-n-poverty-bay@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, 9 October, 2008 8:15:19 AM Subject: [NZ-HB-PB] Hickey query Going tomorrow to the Napier Cemetary and having a look. Made a copy of your mail to take with me and I always knew people couldn't spell and couldn't understand what had been said-just imagine all the various accents in those days. I was thinking, (again) as you have been in email contact with someone in the Council you could 1. Make an enquiry if there is a headstone, because there is a headstone registry 2. Ask if the Sexton or someone there could draw up a rough sketch and indicate the plot site on it for you There are not too many graves there so the effort is not too much for me to look but could be a little additional information for you if there is or has been writing on the stone. Dr. MILNE-THOMPSON, who was consulted, hopes to be able to preserve the finger, but the accident is a peculiarly unfortunate one. Mr CALDERS was enjoying leave of absence from duty at the time.
