Hello all, I have just put a story online about a Kiwi fighter pilots experience fighting in the Battle of Britain, Dunkirk etc, a long story but well worth the read. It's under WWII stories. Pilot is Squadron Leader Alan Deere who was awarded the DFC & Bar. http://www.nzmrangloboerwar.org.nz Regards Leigh in Hokitika, Best Place in New Zealand kiwi_anzac35@yahoo.co.nz Send instant messages to your online friends http://au.messenger.yahoo.com
Hi Kerry Sorry I can't answer your question as my roots are Danish but there is a Rootsweb Norway mailing list. http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/NOR/NORWAY.html I suggest you subscribe and ask your question there. Denmark did not have a central registry until recently - you have to search the parish registers which are available on film at your nearest LDS Family History Centre. I suspect that it may be the same for Norway as it was once part of the Danish Kingdom. Kerry, State Library of Queensland has a set of CD's from Mormon Church so I guess the SLNSW (?) would have a similar set ? Failing that try looking them up online at http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebFront.exe?slag=vis&tekst=meldingar&spraak=e (select a database at the top and you're away. Suggest you might consider joining the Norway List as well at http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/intl/NOR/NORWAY.html - there's a lot of help given freely on this list.
