Fortunately the horse drawing the cart stopped promptly when spoken to, and no doubt LANGLEY would have been killed........The accident was a very serious one, but Dr. MENZIES hopes to have his patient thoroughly recovered in a few weeks.

HBH 1890 June 17 Court news local Friction between the cabmen and bus drivers of the town was again illustrated yesterday, when William MYERS was charged at the Resident Magistrate's Court, on the information of Edward HUGHES, with carrying more passengers in his licensed vehicle than the law allowed. George NEALE, formerly a constable in this district, and after that master of the Napier Refuge for some time, was yesterday charged at the Resident Magistrate's Court on the information of Constable SCHULZ, with using insulting language to informant on the 31st of May....more..... and it appeared from the evidence that a lade named O'ROURKE met with an accident.......more JOHNSON v TAIT-the adjourned "dog case" occupied the time of the Resident Magistrate for a good portion of Mr G A PREECE.
