    3. There was an early Robert Price, editor of local Newspaper. Pre-1900 though. May be linked? There were Johansen's living close to us (I was b.1933) so this might be her. Will check ER's next time I'm in Library. I know nothing about Robert, but Joyce was born 3 Sep 1926 in Napier and passed away on 6 Sep 1978 in Napier. They had three children, Peter, Suzanne, and Robert. I am hoping there may be an obituary or something to help me learn more about their family. Your help and advice are greatly appreciated. Robert L. 3. Hi everyone: New member just logged on. Les Hewett, Napier. Lived here for 70+ years; genealogy addict. My Pointon ancestors arrived from Shropshire (1400's) via St. Helens, Lancs., 1882. Gray from Northumberland 1842; Johnston from Belfast 1846; Hewett 1885. Happy to assist enquirers as I am in and out of local library regularly. Also, for my sins, I am NZ Commissioner; Genealogy Officer; and Newsletter Editor for Clan Johnston /e Assn., NZ Inc. Seeking early arrivals of Johnston/es anywhere in NZ for our Historical Index project. I assist members and non-members with genealogy enquiries and hold a small collection of trees from members and others, most of which go back to Scotland and Ireland. Look forward to list messages. 3. WAIPAWA - Mr M'LEAN, carpenter, who left here for COOLGARDIE, has returned to HAWKE'S BAY. It appears that he did not get nearer than PERTH, and from what he heard and saw there resolved to make tracks home again as soon as possible. Mr W. MADDISON, who left about the same time has returned to AUCKLAND. Mr Sydney JOHNSTON, of ORUAWHARE, leaves for England shortly. It has long been felt that the parish of TARADALE requires more than one clergyman to carry out at all efficiently the work necessitated by such a large tract of country as that contained within the parish. We are glad, therefore, to be able to congratulate the parishioners in that the efforts to obtain a curate have proved successful. The Rev. Horace KLINGENDER, of PATEA, West Coast, who has been appoined to the curacy, is riding through, and expects to arrive at TARADALE in a day or two. Mr KILNGENDER's (note different spelling) time will be spent almost entirely up country, thus enabling the incumbent of the parish to give most of his attention to those who live nearer the centre. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- No virus found in this incoming message.
