All Can someone please give me a name of a reputable second hand book shop or same in the Auckland area. I have received a family bible (printed 1804) that was my grandmothers and would like to know what to do with it to keep it preserved. At present it sits in Bubble Wrap with newspaper around it but am sure that there is more that I need to do to keep this in the very good condition that it is in. Kind regards, Di Kendle
Hello Di You may be better to speak with a repository museum as I did (only three registered respositories in NZ). To preserve the bible they advised "to afford longivity for paper items such as your bible, room with a constant temperature, humidity and light levels is optimum". Non-acid archival papers/boxes are also available at specialist stores. Something further for you to research :-)) Kind regards Sandra Parnell Auckland ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dianne Kendle" <dkendle@xtra.co.nz> To: <NZ-AUCKLAND-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, August 13, 2007 7:58 AM Subject: [NZ-AUCKLAND] Family Bible > All > > Can someone please give me a name of a reputable second hand book shop or same in the Auckland area.
