    3. James Richard Talbot married Catherine O'Connor in Poverty Bay 2 june 1886. James I think was born in Kerry Ireland . I am trying to connect this Talbot to the Talbots of Victoria. As his parents are listed as Richard John Talbot farmer and Mary Cook [ same parents as Victorian Talbots] Catherine [Kate] O'Connor came to NZ app 1879-80 with brother Maurice O'Connor they went to Poverty Bay . Kate's parents were Thomas O'Connor and Elizabeth Teahan from app Ballyfinnane Co Kerry. O'Connors and Teahans from Ballfinnane and Currow, son Maurice went to New Zealand also Cournane and Bowler from Cahersiveen ,daughter Mary Frances married Maurice in NZ 1881

    3. Hi Trish There is a WILL for James Richard TALBOT at Archives NZ - Wellington office. May give you some clues to other family members. This Richard lived in Napier and died in 1919. Not sure if these might be your family, although some of the dates of births precede the marriage. Found an Arthur William TALBOT (b.1895) at school in Opotiki which is in the Poverty Bay area. Bernard TALBOT b. 1897 Edith Emily b.1899 Florence Phillipa b. 1893 Georgina Elizabeth b. 1881 Grace Emma b. 1885 and there may be others Kate O'CONNOR was listed on the 1893 Electoral Roll - Women and listed as a Housewife, living at Hardings Rd, Napier. There is a Kate O'CONNOR listed at the Park Island (Napier) Cemetery. A widow died 1952. I hope some of this information may give you some leads. 3. Hi again Sandra. Kate O'Connnor was married to James Richard Talbot in Poverty Bay 1886, so that entry on the census would not be her as she was married then. How do I get access to will's in NZ.? This is one I would like to solve as I have been on the Kerry list for as long as I can remember. The Talbot's were a well know family and I have a chap in Victoria who is researching Talbot's also and this James Richard Talbot has the same parents as his . So we would like more information on him if possible. Again thank you for taking the time to look for me Trish in Sydney Hi Trish There is a WILL for James Richard TALBOT at Archives NZ - Wellington office. 1. [NZ-AUCKLAND] Access to WILLS in New Zealand (was Talbot/O'Connor)

    3. Trish Jensen wrote >>>How do I get access to will's in NZ.?>>> Hi Trish and Listers Archives New Zealand has four branches that contain documents: Auckland or Wellington (North Island) Christchurch or Dunedin (South Island) On all their PROBATE/WILLS information it will state which branch to contact 1) See if anyone on the List can give you details of the FILE NO and date of Death............this may save on research costs Currently $NZ 25 per half hour and 20 pages photocopied. Service turnaround is pretty swift from my experience. 2) Visit http://archway.archives.govt.nz/ to see if your 'person' is listed with any documents, i.e. divorce, business, WILLS, 3) Apply for copy of WILLS/documents online but check the costings. Good luck Sandra Auckland New Zealand NZSG#19772 ----- Original Message ----- From: Trish Jensen To: SOMERS ; nz-auckland@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, August 28, 2007 11:56 AM Subject: Re: [NZ-AUCKLAND] Talbot /O'Connor Hi again Sandra.
