Elizabeth O'Connor married Ernest Paterson AITKEN in 1901 #6110 (NZ Marriages 1836/1956CD ) Buried at Karori Cemetery Wellington Area 03/Block E/Row 06/Plot 018 In loving memory of Ernest Pattinson(not the spelling change) AITKEN beloved husband of Elizabeth AITKEN died 20/2/1940 aged 59. Sadly missed. Also his beloved wife Elizabeth died 18/8/1960 aged 78 Also Maurice Robert beloved son of above died in England 14/10/1943 aged 31 Also Des loving son of the above died 26/3/1968 RIP Also Irene HALSE beloved daughter and sister died 27/7/1971 RIP Irene May AITKEN married George Clinton HALSE 1934 #03800 Irene buried with family as above George Clinton HALSE was an architect and lived in Mornington, a suburb of Dunedin. He died in Dunedin 25/3/1955 aged 60 and is buried at Andersons Bay Cemetery (on line if you want to look up further). He died Intestate (without a WILL) and his Probate is at Archives NZ - Dunedin office I would look up Archives NZ for a divorce?? likely?? Desmond Brian AITKEN married Annie Edith MILLIGAN in 1934 #10763 Interestingly I have AITKEN and HALSE in my family trees. Spouses of blood relatives to me. Yes I have been to that cemetery in Wellington and seen the grave of Maurice and Mary Frances O'Connor.
