    1. [NZ-AUCKLAND] GOODSON/ BOURNE/ PERSTON from 1880 onwards
    2. Jan & Stuart Moon
    3. GOODSON, Charles William and wife Betsy (nee Cartwright) arrived Auckland 01 March 1880, Stracathro, with their children (all born UK) William b 1863, Elizabeth b 1864, Edith 1866-1960, Charles 1867-1949, Nellie Burkett 1869-1948, Harry b 1872, Frederick Octavius (my grandfather) 1875-1956, Bessie Maud 1876-1967, Ernest Edward 1877-1903. Looking for any info at all about these people - who are very elusive. I understand there was a great deal of family disharmony, and religion may have been the cause. Edith and Nellie went to Australia, where they married, etc. Charles may have lived in Hawera, he died there. Ernest Edward died in an accident at the Hawera Bacon Factory, but may have lived in Auckland. Bessie married Ernest Arthur Pacey, lived and later died in Hawera. William, Harry, Elizabeth - nothing known at all. also GOODSONS LONDON ARCADE, Auckland - established after 1880 - when? Prop. Charles William Goodson declared bankrupt in 1883, was it this business or something else? Where does one find records of these old businesses? also GOODSON, Charles William and Betsy (nee Cartwright) - Betsy died in Auckland 1881. In 1883 Charles married Eliza BOURNE, who had come to NZ with family as children's governess - she died, but no info found yet. In 1901 Charles marries Isabella PERSTON - have never found any info about her. He predeceased her in 1919 (?), and at the time of his death they were living at Elim (House name maybe?) Hopetoun Street, Auckland.
