If I had seen it previously, I had forgotten it. And of course I will repeat my thanks for your continual transcriptions posted on here for all of us. I do hope that you have obtained assistance from others in your recent postings for information on some of your own people. However, the main reason for this posting is this: I used Papers Past to search in old Auckland newspapers for family members (DAY) and found a shipping record in August 1851 for a Mrs DAY & 3 children on the "Emma"; which may very well be our family. (We had previously found an index card entry for this in the old Auckland library indexes, many many years ago). The newspaper report mentions at its conclusion: "J. WOODHOUSE, Agent". So I am assuming that to mean that he was the shipping agent who handled that ship. My question to the list is this please: Would anyone know if any business records might still exist, which had belonged to Mr WOODHOUSE, which might throw further light on these passengers? Yes, I know that this is a long-shot, but sometimes miracles do happen. LOL. Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help with this query.
