Hello Auckland, I have just found my great uncle James Smith COUSINS in Auckland. He married Hannah EDWARDS. They were on the ship MATILDA WATTENBACH which arrived in 1862, married in Auckland 1867, children: Philip Sidney died 1957, Herbert Glanville died abt 1961, William John b abt 1868 died Jan 1938, Clarice Whitmee died 1958, didn't marry. Nelsie 1882 - 1882. James was born in Abingdon Berkshire 1841 died Auckland 1881 he was a coach builder and was in partnership as 'Cousins and Atkins' in Auckland. Hannah died in Devonport 1928. I would love to find out more about them and their descendants, some of whom must still be alive. Clarice mentions nephews and nieces in her will. Hilda Margaret married Robert Guthrie JAMIESON in 1946. Eric Glanville married Nance Hallam WRIGLEY in 1927. Alan Murray married Ruth MILLAR in 1933 Kieth Leslie married May Blanche HASELDEN in 1936. Hi Janet, Do you have the England census information on James? I am not sure if you know about James' parents and siblings but here they are in 1841, 1851 and 1861. I can send images off list if you like. James Smith COUSINS' parents William George COUSINS and Louisa SMITH were marred in Thanet, Kent in 1838. In the 1841 census, James and his elder sister Mary Jane and mother Louisa were in Kent, but father William and brother William were in Berkshire. You may already have all this information but just in case here it is. If you don't have access to the censuses, I could search some more for James' siblings in later years.
