I am researching my family name, BARTON, who lived in Auckland, Westport, and who originated in Southport, Lancashire. My grand father was Thomas Barton, a cabinet maker who lived in Remuera, Auckland, and who was the father of Noel (ex mayor of Mt. Eden), John, Allan (my father), and Lillian. I am led to believe that Thomas Barton lived in Westport before moving to Auckland, but as for any information as to his parents, I have very few clues.
