HBH 1892 May 14th Shipping News The body of the ill-fated captain of the BENVENUE was recently washed ashore at Sandgate, KENT, where the ship was wrecked having been 125 days in the water. The body was still fully dressed and had on a gold watch which at stopped at 7.20, the time when the vessel foundered. The captain was last seen going down to his cabin and it is believed he remained there till the recent gales broke the ship up and set the body free. The s.s. CELTIC KING, Captain O'TOOLE (what a fitting name) was loading in London for New Zealand on March 18th.
