I've been thinking about chiming in on this thread. I have a second cousin once removed who is a Nun. Not the same Order but, Nuns in Holy Order don't retire. I guess its possible for some to remain Novices in the Sisterhood. If she was in a Roman Catholic Order she definitely wouldnt retire, she would be in the Order until she died. It would mean a bit of research to confirm perhaps. Maybe writing to the Order might be able to turn up some records for you.
