    3. Hello Listers Please does anyone have resources that might mention Charles Featherstone MITCHELL or his wife Priscilla, & help us to find their deaths? They married in England in 1846. We think he arrived in NZ (via Victoria) by 1863 & he was involved in both publishing & politics. He worked as a sub-editor for the"New Zealander" from Jan.1865 to Jan 1866 then co-owned the"Penny Journal" from May 1866 to July 1867 when they were declared bankrupt. In May 1868 he resigned from the Thames Improvement Committee & in Sept 1868 he described himself as a miner when he was involved in a dispute in the Shortland Wardens Court over a mining claim. He lost an election in Nov1865 but won an election to the Auckland Provincial Council in 1870 - 1873. In May 1871 he was brought before the Thames Police Court charged with selling liquor to Natives. In Feb 1872 he sued the proprietor of the "Thames Advertiser" for libel. He applied for 200 acres in 1875. In Feb 1887 he was elected to the Ohinemuri Licensing District Committee. He may have been the Mr C F Mitchell of the "Hauraki Tribune" in 1895? What happened to him? Thankyou in hope Rosemary
