In addition to family history that has been passed down through the years, I've also found information on the Fishers from Yates County Cemeteries (Dumas & Conybeare) and Cleveland's History of Yates County, NY, the census records and documents from the county archives. Phoebe Jane Fisher, the youngest of eight, had four brothers and three sisters: Samuel J. (c. 1818), Rachel (c. 1819), Jeremiah (c. 1821), Abigail (c. 1822), Hannah, June 1823, James (c. 1826) and Hiram (c. 1830). I'm also related to the Fishers through Abigail, who married John McConnell, the brother of my third great-grandfather, Alexander J. McConnell. She's another Fisher sister who is missing in action. When and where she's buried is another mystery. They lived in Howard, Steuben, NY but are not related to the many McConnells living there. Which sister of Francis Maitland Kennedy is your ggg-grandmother? His sister Barbara married Joseph Gillette McConnell, the son of Alexander J. McConnell. Thanks for your help and your interest.
