Sandy Dunn, os the Italy town historian <mailto:sandy6710@frontiernet.net> sandy6710@frontiernet.net Below is information she had on your PULVER line. Have you checked out websites for yates county, NY? http://www.newyorkroots.org/yates/index.html Dianne Here is info the Italy town historian sent to me on Pulver family: Peter Pulver Jr. was born in Otsego County , New York in 1818 and came with his father to Yates County in 1826 and into the town of Italy in 1834. In 1847 he united in marriage with Jane Miller. Eight children were born to them: William born in 1849, James M born in 1851, George F. born in 1852, Frances S. born in 1855, Elias F. born in 1858, Alice A. born in 1860, Nettie and George died in infancy. This information comes from Yates county Atlas and Townships dated 1876. But in History and Directory of Yates County done by Stafford S. Cleveland in1873: has Peter Pulver Jr. married Jane Harris owning 300 acres. His Children: William, James, Francis J, Elias, Alice and Ida. However in 1860 Census lists a Jane Harris Widow at the age of 56 with 5 children. Peter Pulver with wife Jane and children Wm, James, Francis, Elisa and Alice. Then in 1870 it has Peter Pulver @ age 52 and Jane @ 47 with Francis, Elias, Alice and Ida. This is all of the information I could come up with at this time - Sandra Dunn Italy Town Historian, Yates Co. NY Sent: Saturday, October 08, 2011 3:19 PM To: NYYATES-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [NYYATES] Harris - Miller - Pulver Italy Hill I am trying to clarify the parents of Jane (b. 1823 Scotland; d. 1906) w/ of Peter Pulver, Jr. She lived at least most of her adult life at Italy Hill and has quite a few descendants. Her mother Jane (b. 1800 Scotland; d. 1882) died as widow of James Harris. However, the 1865 Census notes that she had been married twice and had had 5 children. I know she had Jane (b. 1823), Janette Harris (b. 1839 d. 1907 m. John D. Sutton); John Harris (b. 1842, d. aft 1820); James Harris (b. 1843, d. aft 1850) Jane (b. 1823), wife of Peter Pulver, is sometimes referred to as Jane "Harris" and sometimes as Jane "Miller." I theorize that Jane (b. 1800) was first married to a Miller, and then later to a James Harris. I further presume that James Miller (b. abt 1826 NY) in James and Jane Harris's 1850 household would have been Jane's (b. 1823) full sibling. He was also probably the James Miller buried at Italy Hill, who served in the Civil War (d. 36 yrs) Furthermore, there is a Robert Miller d. Jan 21, 1835 at age 31 and buried at Italy Hill. His age, time of death and burial location would fit for the possible first husband of Jane (b. 1800). Can anyone confirm or refute the relationship between the Harris's and Miller's at Italy Hill?
