I think it may have been for Dow. I just found out that in 1816, the itinerant preacher Lorenzo Dow came through Ontario Co, and that's when my possible ancestor, Lorenzo D. Dickerson, was born. Apparently many children at the time were named after Lorenzo Dow. There are several related Dickersons in the Bellona cemetery I'm researching. I've tried Fran Dumas, the pastor at the Benton M.E. church, and others, but I've run into a dead end at present. Please if you run across the name, keep me in mind.
