I am glad on found you on the Ancestry.com message board. I am a member of the Yates County Genealogical and Historical Society. My 3rd ggrandfather, John Martin Brown, emigrated from Columbia Co, NY to Seneca around 1830. He owned property along the Kashong Creek. His 2nd wife was Mary Jane Dickerson of Bellona. Based on information i have, Mary Jane had brothers Lyman B. Dickerson, Jacob P Dickerson, Lorenzo D. Dickerson, Alphonso Dickerson and John Dickerson. I have had a great deal of trouble getting anything about her father, Robert Dickerson, since he was killed in a bar fight in Bellona in 1829. I saw your article on the Yates County atlas, and see that one of your ancestors was Lorenzo D. Fox. I was just wondering if you knew what the "D" stood for, and if the Foxes had any association with the Dickersons of Bellona.
