He went from there to the Midwest in the 1830's and was one of the founding fathers of our county seat here in Belvidere, Il. I have found a Daniel Whitney who was a partner to James Duane Doty in 1820's in Wisconsin who became 1st Govenor of Wisconsin. Any help would be greatly Appreciated.
