I am planning a visit to the area and am interested in knowing the best places to visit to do genealogical research. I am looking for my ancestor John Decker, born 1818. Family records state that he was born in Yates County on 9 Jan 1818, but I have found nothing about his parents or siblings. The 1880 census shows that his parents were both born in New Jersey. If anyone is searching the Decker family, or if anyone can give me any direction about where to do research on my visit, I would be greatly appreciative. Brent Glad
