You'll want to go to the Historian's office in Penn Yan. They have family files, cemetery records. They are part of the county court complex. Check under www.USGENWEB.org, New York State, Yates County and you'll find lots of information. You'll also want to visit the Yates Co. Genealogy Society at the Oliver House. You can Google Yates County Historical Society New York and get hours, directions, etc. Both of those places have lots of information and both are very helpful. The county historian's website should be perused first as Fran Dumas already has the Yates Co. cemeteries on line, as well as other information you may want to look over, before going to their facility.
