I've "rescued" an old photograph of Alice SHOEMAKER which was taken at the L. Hillman Studio in Watkins, New York. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with Alice likely in her 30's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate her in census records as follows: 1860 census of Barrington, NY: Asher SHOEMAKER, age 44, a Farm Laborer, born NY Adaline SHOEMAKER, age 29, born NY Alice SHOEMAKER, age 3, born NY Hesther SHOEMAKER, age 9 months, born NY 1870 census of Orange, NY: Asher SHOEMAKER, age 51, a Farmer, born NY Mary SHOEMAKER, age 43, Keeping House, born NY Alice SHOEMAKER, age 14, born NY Hester A. SHOEMAKER, age 10, born NY Joseph SHOEMAKER, age 2, born NY Della SHOEMAKER, age 1, born NY I am hoping to locate someone from her family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to their care.
