Since vitals weren't kept until the early 1880's, you'd have better luck requesting records from Ontario County. Gad died in Geneva on 16 Mar 1894, so you may find a death record for him with his parents names on it. Sarah died 13 Sept 1880, so there probably won't be a record for her, but you may find her maiden name on a death record for one of her children. Obits can be a goldmine too. Good luck.
