In the 1870 Census he was living in Dresden, Washington Co.,NY 1870 NEW YORK Federal Census DRESDEN, WASHINGTON Co. 121-109 JONES Melancton 41 MW Farmer 700 400 NY Jane A. 28 FW keeping house NY Johny? 4 MW NY Charles 2 MW NY on same page are two NOBLE families... households of both Calvin & Wilbur........ both complete households reportedly born in NY..... --------------------------------------------------- In searching Washington County looking for possible parents of Melancton I found the following: 1870 NEW YORK Federal Census GRANVILLE, WASHINGTON Co. 422-427 JONES M R 70 MW Cabinet Manufacturer NY Sarah 70 FW keeping house VT Sarah was the only female bn VT that came up.
