FLOWERS was born circa 1834 to Martin and Louisa/Eloisa FLOWERS. He was a carpenter by trade. In the 1860 census Rufus' wife is listed as 17 year old Merci/Mercy and they have a 3 year old son, Albert. They are living in Yates, New York. The family shows up in the 1870 census, still living in Yates County. But in the 1880 census Rufus is living in Montcalm, Michigan with new wife, Mary Sanderson Flowers, whom he married in Michigan in 1876, and 3 year old daughter, Josie. I would very much like to know what became of Mercy especially her year of death and burial site. Did Mercy die some time between 1870 and 1876 or did a separation/divorce take place in the marriage during that time period? Is anyone aware of any possible connection between Rufus and Eliza Ward of Cheshire, Ontario County, New York. Any help would be much appreciated. Sorry listers. I man to end this to the libraria looking for a hard copy index for the History. Funny!
Hello Earlene, There is an index at the site below sent to me by a lister on the Yates Co. mailing list. It is not an every-name index; not printable as an index. One needs to search this site to make the connection. I'll continue to look for a hard-copy. Can't wait to hear about the Pie sale. I'm sure it was a "delicious' experience. Don't know if I'll see you this week. It is a very busy week and the wedding is Saturday. ----- Original Message ----- From: "D Thomas" <dizlynn1@earthlink.net> To: <nyyates@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2011 2:09 PM Subject: Re: [NYYATES] Index > Yes it is online at > http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ny/county/yates/1873yateshistindexII.htm > > -----Original Message----- > From: nyyates-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:nyyates-bounces@rootsweb.com] On > Behalf Of Deanna Smith > Sent: Sunday, August 14, 2011 11:54 AM > To: nyyates@rootsweb.com > Subject: [NYYATES] Index > > > Is there an Index for sale for "The History and Directory of Yates Co., NY, > 2 vol. set, by Stafford Cleveland, pub. 1873? > > Deanna > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > NYYATES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NYYATES-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
