Co-chairs Denise REISDORF and Carole JONES announced the Arcade Area Chamber of Commerce's Trade Fair would be held at the Sardinia Town Park later in the month. Deaths: William GREEN, 59, of North Java; Frances SULLIVAN MONTGOMERY, 85 of Arcade; Margie RILEY ERNEWEIN, 72, of Delevan; Lawrence SPAULDING, 73, of Sardinia; Joyce HESS CHAPMAN, 58, of Farmersville Station. 25 Years Ago - May 11, 1978 Pioneer had five first-place winners at the state tournament of the U. S. Kids' Wrestling Federation. They were Robbie MANGINO, Marty ZIMMER, Mark RICHTER, Aarni MATTSON and Jon CHADDOCK. Lucille DRAKE was elected president of the Arcade Monday Research Club. Correction to last week's column--the first faculty play at Arcade High School was in 1950. It was "The Man Who Came to Dinner" with Harry DOUGLASS as Sheridan Whiteside and Marjorie RYAN and Edward MURPHY directing. Deaths: Eleanor VANVALKENBURG CROSBY of Arcade; Norma SUPPA BLECHA, 51, of Machias; Verna HEINRICH FUCHS of Arcade; Amelia RAKOSKA GUSSE of Delevan; John DAWSON, 68, of Sandusky. 35 Years Ago - May 9, 1968 The area lost its senior physician when Dr. George G. DAVIS of Arcade died at age 85. He had practiced medicine in Arcade since 1908, except for service in the Army during World War I. Deaths: Adelbert SILLAWAY of Strykersville; David NORTHRUP, 7, of Arcade; Wayne GOODEMOTE, 56, formerly of Sardinia; George REDDEN, 49, formerly of Arcade. 50 Years Ago - May 7, 1953 Ruth's Dry Goods moved to the former R. C. PINGREY building at 58 Main Street in Delevan. Dr. Donald WATKINS, a native of Franklinville, opened a dental office in Arcade. The Richard MORGAN house at Elton was destroyed by fire.
