    1. [NYWYOMIN] MARSTON in Blakely Cemetery, Torrey Hill Road, Java
    2. Patricia Tharp
    3. The following is taken from Blakely Cemetery Inscriptions found in the January 1956 issue of Historical Wyoming, page 61: MARSTON, Artemecia E., wife Obed R. Marston Esq., Feb. 20, 1791-July 11, 1843, 52y. [Editor's note, her stone is badly weathered. She was probably the wife of the Java Town Clerk in 1845, Obed R. Marston). The introduction to this one and one-half page article reads, "This burial place was apparently set aside by Captain Justus Blakely on his farm as a neighborhood cemetery. The oldest identified burial occurred in 1838 and interments have continued in recent years. It is located in the southwest corner of Lot 20, Range 3, on the Torrey Hill Road, immediately west of the junction of that road with the Java Lake-Java Five Corners road. The Torrey Hill road has its western terminus at the Cattaraugus Road, south of Java Center. When these inscriptions were taken on Nov. 14, 1948, the grounds were unfenced, a majority of the stones fallen and some badly weathered. It is reasonably ceratin that some stones have been destroyed and of a certainty that additional burials are on the plot. Some data below has been supplied from other souces." Surnames are: ATCHISON, BLAKELY, CURTIS, JACKSON, LORD, MARSTON (only the one above), PRESTON, THORNTON, TORREY/TORRY _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 with e-mail virus protection service: 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/virus
