The name Rude strikes me. I have two dead ends in my family ancestry. I will try to explain it... 1. There was a Lewis B. SMITH who married Anna RUDE. Lewis was born Oct. 15, 1784, who knows where in NY and died June 30, 1858 in Scipio, Cayuga Co., NY. Anna was born Mar. 10, 1787 in Washington, Litchfield Co., CT and died May 17, 1848 in Medina, Medina Co., Ohio. They are both buried in Scipio Rural Cemetery, Cayuga Co., Ny. Lewis was a son of Elijah SMITH and Aimy ____? Ann was the daughter of Lester RUDE and Phobe SCOTT. That is about all I know of them. 2. My great grandfater was one Avery SMITH who married Elsie HUDSON of Scipio, Cauga Co., NY about 1832. I know they were residing in Middlebury, Genesee (now Wyoming) Co., NY about the same time or shortly after. Avery was born 1809 somewhere in NY. Elsie was born the daughter of Richard HUDSON & Ann PITTS Jul 16, 1808 in Scipio. They probably had their first 6 children in Middlebury before moving to Medina, Ohio previous to 1850. NOTE: Both of these SMITH families are as yet unrelated or connected as I have no further information on them OTHER THAN they are both related by marriage into the same HUDSON family line.
