What I know of the ROOD family, is that David Porter Rood (who married "my" Elizabeth BODDY in 1850) was the son of Eli(hu) and Eliza Tanner Rood. Elihu, in turn, was the son of David Rood and his wife Sarah (Rogers) ROOD, we have been told. Apparently David was born in the 1750's in Conn. and lived for a time in Washington County, New York and FairHaven, VT, before migrating to Genesee County, New York, about 1816 (what would later become Wyoming County). David and Sarah (Rogers) were parents of at least 7 children, including two daughters, Lydia and Sarah, who married two of the illustrous Doolittle brothers that founded Wethersfield Springs in Wyoming County. Sorry I can't be of more help to you, but possibly someone else on this list is researching your RUDE family. Good luck!
