Wynn BOYD of Arcade had created "Vortex," a board game being manufactured and distributed by Marino Gust Enterprises. Holland Central students Scott WANDER and Janel McBRIDE were selected to perform with the All-State Chorus at Kiamisha Lake. George and Louise MARSHALL WYLLIE of Arcade observed their golden anniversary. Deaths: Helen BENNETT FRANCZAK, 77, of Holland; Alfred "Max" BRANDT, 74, of Yorkshire; Herbert McARTHUR, 68, of Lime Lake; Richard ZUBER, 60, of Strykersville. 25 Years Ago - December 14, 1977 Joan RONAN and Donna ELLIS opened The Personal Touch in Arcade. 35 Years Ago - December 14, 1967 Mr. & Mrs. Charles SHERWOOD, formerly of Arcade, observed their golden anniversary. The Strykersville firemen elected John SCHILTZ president and Donald SIMONS chief. Deaths: Laura SKUSE VAN DYKE, 92, of Bliss; Frances WARREN LONG, 86, of Machias. 50 Years Ago - December 11, 1952 Six Arcade Central students were selected to perform with all-state music groups. They included Donald HUTCHINSON and John GLASE in band, and Shirley CONROY, Roberta BIEBER, Rex CLOUSTON, and David TULLAR in chorus. William BOREANAZ was elected president of the Arcade men's Club. Deaths: Ernest FLYNN, 71, of Bliss; Dorothy HOUSE McCLORY of Yorkshire; Fred HURLBURT, 56, formerly of Bliss; Robert ARNOLD of Arcade.
