Hi, I'm new to the list and looking for any information on Henry Dingman b abt 1800 NY and Catherine Dingman b 1802-1803 NY who appear on the census in Bennington, Wyoming County, New York in 1850 (household 1472, page 99A, Ancestry Image 7). The Ancestry Index of the census spells the name Dingmon, but from the handwriting Dingman is possible as well. I'm hoping to prove that this Henry and Catherine are the parents of Cornelius Dingman b abt 1830 NY. If so, then Catherine's maiden name is Vedder, Veeder, Vieder, etc. Cornelius is my gg grandfather. He married 1) Elizabeth Ellen Chaffee in 1859 in Illinois. He also had two other wives: 2) Maggie Unknown (married name before she married Cornelius: Hendricks); and 3) Jenny Unknown. Cornelius died in 1914 in Azusa, Los Angeles County, California.
