    3. On March 18, 1818 the legislature divided the Town of Nunda and organized the four western Allegany townships (now Pike, Eagle, Hume and Centerville) into a new town called Pike. In 1846 the towns of Eagle and Pike were annexed to Wyoming County from Allegany. Wyoming County had been formed from Genesee County on May 14, 1841. An 1866 atlas shows an E. Ward, an A. Ward, an O. Ward and a W. Ward residing near the northern edge of the Town of Eagle. From the 1880 census of Eagle (LDS film 1254948): Family no. 122 - Charles Ward 21 Farm Laborer b. NY Ellen 19 Keeping house Cyrus (unable to read age) b. NY Family no. 125 - John Ward 36 Farmer b. NY Mary 37 Keeping house b. NY These families resided on or near the Center Road east of Eagle Village. Hope these notes are of some help. Good Hunting ww
